What's up community! I'm very happy to be part of this round table of elites (acura owners)!
Ok so here's my issue : I have a '98 tl 3.2 192k Mi. Recently, he started over heating. Coolant boilng back to the return res. Luckily, I got to shut it off before any Real damage was done(hopefully). I noticed it was a broken rad cap. I fished the piece out, replaced the new cap after refilling the rad. Still over heated. I thought it might be air in the rad, so I squeezed the Hose and let it run with the cap off and a funnel plugged in the top so the level can rise, then recapped it, and watched the needle. Still creeped up past normal. I let the engine cool at removed the cap and allowed the AF to escape. (Did this three times, hoping to get the air out. Might not have succeeded) I also replaced the coolant temp sensor, and the ect Gauge sending unit. Still overheating. But allow my to say this: I replaced these units because I noticed the cooling fan doesn't come on anymore! This daggone fan used to come on, and stay on for upwards of 10-15 minutes after turning the car off! I know it's not head gasket, and it 'shouldn't' be the thermostat, because the fan would still activate. I'm thinking fan switch on the bottom, or the fan motor. Does anybody have any info for me and my long time companion MOET TL?? thanking everybody in advance!! ✌🏾
