Hi there! I don't know if anybody has experienced this but I get a kind of whirring sound a few seconds after I turn off the car. This continues for a few seconds (or a minute) and sometimes the sound dies then comes back again. After a few more seconds everything is quiet. I popped the hood while this was happening and tried looking around - I think the sound is coming from the front of the engine. Any thoughts on what's happening?

 

Its the engine fan cooling itself off. Its normal and prevents head gasket problems.

I just took the car out for a drive to see if the whirring sound is still there (and yes, it's still there - the sound came on as I was walking away). This just started when i hit the 115k mark and got me spooked.
