When it rains it pours...advice needed

Okay so 4 months back i took my car for a NYS inspection and the guy failed it because the muffler was making noises as he drove it in. I had to take it to another shop because this guy was charging me $600 for a new muffler. He didn't even started the safety inspection yet and told me he will only do so after he replaces the muffler. On my way to another shop to get it fix, my battery went dead so i pulled in a gas station to get it check out, turns out it was the alternator. Got it changed for $130 but when i got on the highway my AC didn't turn on, it blows hot air so i called the guy at the gas station and he told me to come back. I was late on my way to get the new muffler so i came back another day. Once back, they said they didn't mess up my AC and wanted to do a trial and error fix ...first change the freon, then the ac comp switch (which will cost around $160), then they will try something else if it doesn't work. I refused and took it to another shop. This new shop said the AC dashboard broke and channel a wired through the dash and installed an on/off AC switch costing me $150. Everything was fine until recently I was driving in the rain and my windshield wipers suddenly stopped working (almost got into an accident on the highway) and my left passenger window decided not to roll down too!!!

My question is why all of a sudden (after i refused to fix the muffler for $600) that my car is having electrical problems. Is it just about time for it to break down all at once?? Just want some advices or any DIYs before bringing it to a shop.

That really sux. One way I like to look at things is it's just a new car payment or two. Does that mean your climate control doesn't work anymore? I'd try to get it back to stock, but maybe it's not too bad a fix.

I think someone REALLY jacked up the wiring when they installed all these little switches to do everything...

you know someone doesn't know how to work on a car when they wire in their own switches to band aid a real problem.
