Vibration at highway speeds after warm up

I have 1996 3.2 TL with 233,000 miles. I bought it new in 1995 and have serviced the car by the book. After the car is driven 50 or so miles at highway speeds around 70 mph, it begins to shake and vibrate in the front end. I Replaced inner tie rod at 211,000 miles. Has anyone had this happen to your TL?

The same thing is going on with my grandmother's car and it is because she needs an alignment and bent both of her passenger side wheels.

This hapens to my 98 2.5 TL as well and I dont know why either. Usually it only vibrates around 60 mph, but only after I have driven it for more than 30 miles.

hmm..i drove my father's friend car on the highway to test why its shakes, he had balded tires on the side and it due to the tires that need balance..

so go get it balance and check your lower ball joint..

Tires will make a very big difference but I'm not sure why it's only happening after a 50 miles trip. That makes me think it's some steering/suspension components that weaken after being used. I'd check the ball joints first, then move on to other components. Check the axle, cv boots, control arms...

Has anyone come up with the definitive answer...to me it feels like a bad drive shaft type shake (u-joint frequency).. can be altered with throttle input like the old rear wheel drive, but steering input as well will change the shaking..

It is not constant, but once she starts shaking... it's on!

Has anyone experienced this with a CV joint going bad?

97 tl 3.2 w/ 166,000 newer tires......

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience!

If the CV joints are bad then you would feel the car shaking as you accelerate. Also you would hear a clicking noise when you turn. There would also be fluid left under the car. Inspect your CV boots to see if there is a rip or tear in them.

You may not always have the clicking with a bad CV joint. Sometimes they can cause vibrations only

I am having that same problem right now im getting new rims and tires hopefully this friday. Maybe it might fix after alignment.
