Ticking/Clicking Noise when accelerating?
Hey Folks,
I seem to be having this clicking or ticking noise when I accelerate. Usually it starts when I'm at 70km/43miles and it gets louder when I go even faster. Not sure if its the wheel bearing or cv joint. I replaced the front wheel bearings and it seems to be less louder so I'm thinking it was that and I need to change the rear bearings. Could it also be the CV joints that need replacing? I'm at a 140km on my '96 2.5 TL. The only parts I've changed so far are the brakes, disks, oxygen sensor and a new radiator...Just wanted to get some opinions.
Thanks & Happy Holidays!

I had similar noises. Thought it might be cv joints, but replacing the driveshafts did not resolve it. It turns out it was a seized brake caliper pin. I only found out that the pin was seized when I was servicing my brakes. Had to hammer the pin out. I polished the rust off with a wire-brush disc on my bench grinder, lubed and replaced it. The clicking noise then disappeared. So I inadvertently resolved the problem. Not guaranteeing that this is your problem, but definitely worth a check. Checking only takes about 30 minutes, or less in your driveway.
