Sudden engine off

Has happened to me 3x in the last 3 weeks. It will just lose power and the engine will shut down. I re-start and everything's OK again.

No CEL or MIL.

What could this be an indication of?

4. Everything seems to run OK

5. Idle is OK

6. Have had a mis-fire 3 weeks ago. 1 time deal.

Yes you're right on the location. Just take a flashlight and look for a box that says relay assy. Main relay is right inside

You can either replace relay if it's bad, or take it apart and re-solder the joints.

This happened to me couple of times, then it went for good while driving on the i-5 in cali. It's the ignition switch under your steering wheel column, cost's about 45-50 buck's - easy change out, diy

This is becoming more frequent and it is a potential issue. If I take it to the shop, what do I tell the mechanic? I think it is fuel supply related. Not an ignition nor a main relay issue (??).

It seems that it is running out of fuel. When you re-start, everything is back to normal.

I need ideas...thanks in advance.

This has been resolved with the Main Relay replacement! Knock on wood.

Most of my experience is with other Hondas. Ignition switches and main fuel relays are a problem on older high mileage cars. Typically the ignition switch will rear it's ugly head when trying to start and the main relay while it's running. I have disassembled the ignition switches and cleaned the contacts to fix them.
I recommend to most people to purchase a NEW relay unless you are good with a soldiering iron.
