2007 acura mdx, key is difficult to get out, once started, car works fine but the key wont release and shut the car off, my husband (a mechanic) took the drive shaft apart and disabled the battery terminal, the key started the car and worked fine... it was removed and started again, no issues... reattached the battery terminal, same problem...key gets stuck... is it the ignition switch?

 

Could be that the shifter is sticking. Or the wafer in the ignition cylinder is going bad. I had to take out a wafer in my pilot since it felt like the key was jamming everytime I put it in or take it out.
