Paint

Has anyone's car clear coating start to come off and needs to do a paint job over that happened to me sucks. I started noticing these big white spots all over the hood and roof then the trunk lid cost me $600 to paint those three parts over but looks good now but still i guess where i live the heat is far to much for it.

Clear Coat Repair

Depending on how old your car is the peeling could be caused by the natural thinning of the clear over time, an adhesion problem from the factory, or as you mentioned, extream climates. In any case, you really didn't need to go to the bodyshop and spend the $600. I realize that the damage was over a large area but it was only your clear. If you took one panel at a time, sanded with 1000+ grit till it stopped flaking and just re-sprayed the clear yourself out of spray cans you may have been just as happy with the results without spending all that money.
