so, sitting at stop light, all of a sudden, car sounds like it's on 3 cylinders or some crap. it is running SUPER rough, and sounds like a lawn mower. the 'check engine' light was blinking at a constant rate. i drove it home and parked it in the garage and started it again. check engine light stayed on. opened the hood and saw nothing crazy. BUT i hear this odd humming noise that sounds like it's coming from near the cat under the car. WTF is this???? i swear to God, this car is about to be either down the road or in a ditch. please help.

no idea how to do that. i cannot/will not pay acura 95 dollars/hr to read a code for me. is there any other way? (ps no autozone near me)

 

trouble code is: P0303 - cylinder 3 misfire. does this mean i'm f*cked? grrrr....it better not, but i'm not too sure about it.

 

k, i know reposting on your own post like 10 times is dumb, but i find out new info and that raises more stuff for me. i read that this misfire could be due to a few things: bad injector, bad plug, bad wire, bad coil, egr valve. anyone know what an egr costs to get replaced? i'd ask honda/acura, but they are closed. thanks peeps

 

a "friend" of mine changed my egr for somethin like 450? not sure but i no i dropped a left nut that day

 

Sounds like a bad wire. Change the spark plugs and wires to see if there're any problems. If it won't fix the problem, replace the cap.

 

that was all covered and replaced under the emissions warranty like 5k miles ago. acura will change that for free and cover all labor, as per warrantied (if that is the case). we'll find out tomorrow.....i'm gonna kinda demand they pay for it no matter what since they did a crap job in their 27 point inspection. they missed a lot of stuff that cost me out of pocket expense. unimpressed.
