how to tork exhaust manifold bolts

well i redid my exhaust a couple months ago. and i need to tork my bolts to my exhaust manifold. but i cant think of any tool to use to get in there.. as you guys know there aint much room in there to get a tork in there and titen them blots to spec. let me know if you guys can think of anything... thanx.. lol

^ i just used a regular racheting wrench, its really not bad at all.

just use your head when positioning the tools, everything will fit in there

already then so just by haveing them titen as much as i can i should be good then..? i have them all titen up i just wanted to put them to spec. but if its fine like that then am good then...

In situations like this and there are plenty, you simply estimate the torque loading by feel. If spec is 20 ft-lbs, and you're using a 3/8" ratchet w/ perhaps 4" leverage, you will need to exert ~ 60 lbs to deliver 20 ft-lbs torque. If you think about it you can estimate this w/ some crude accuracy. Don't worry about under/over. If torque loading was that critical, you never would get a successful seal. Bolt tension from torque loading can vary by a factor of 2 or more due to variable friction on the bolt thread. So worrying about precise torque application is not justified.

^ what he said... use your head. when i wrapped my manifold in fiberglass 2 of the nuts wouldnt clear the wrap for the install. i just left them off. no problems, and i used the "feeler method" to torque the nuts with no problems whatsoever. header nuts aren't that critical

oooooo ok then am good then cuz when i did titen them i thought bout how much it took to take off and thats how i titen then when i put them back on.. .. sooo am good then thanx guys... lol......
