Either your CD's are scratched or the CD player's lense is messed up.

Mine is starting to do that too

Fortunately there is the aftermarket

Another option is to take out the unit and get the CD player repaired. I did this over 2 years ago in my 96 3.2TL (was getting the same code you're getting) and it's been working great since.

I mailed it to Williams Electronics in Texas, got it back in a week and it cost $190. Their website is www.willmanselectronics.com.

I don't work for this company.

honestly, the cd players are known to give lots of CD PEO errors because quite frankly the cd player sucks, i dont recommend to repurchase the same cd deck and strongly recommend you look at other cd deck options.

A nice looking aftermarket deck is probably the best bet, I managed to cure the CD-PE0 , but only for a few days or so.

well i have the same problem. I got that error message anytime I tried to play a CD. I read somewhere that its the optic lens, and someone even posted a while back that using a CD/DVD lens cleaner solved the problem. If that doesn't work then I guess I will go get a new player, but at this point in time I'd rather just use the stock one.

Factory units for '96 3.2 TL will not play burnt CDs except for ones that were done on high quality CDs. They will only play original CDs so your best bet is to change the unit to an aftermarket one.
