I know I saw a DIY for fixing the brake switch and I keep searching but nothing comes up. Any help on that?

 

Never mind I found the DIY.

Why is it that when I spray wd40 under the brake pedal the switch seems to make contact and releases the shifter? I haven't opened up my shifter but I'm guessing a new brake switch will do the trick.

Also i have engine light on and Im getting egr and coolant sensor readings...are these expensive fixes?

 

I had to change my brake switch a couple years back also. It's not too hard, but you do need to be a contortionist.

 

yea i found a DIY on here and I guess taking a couple of screws out of the bottom under the steering wheel opens up a lot more room.

did the brake switch fix the locked shifter for you?
