Fog Lights

I changed out my H3 bulb (I did the H3c to H3 conversion) the other day and now when I go to turn on my fog lights they didn't come on. So I checked the fuse and it was blown because I heard the relay clicking. I changed out the fuse and tried turning them on and they aren't working. I changed the wiring and the bulbs are fine but it still isn't coming on. The fuse keeps blowing every time I turn them on. I am running a 55-watt bulb so that can't be the problem since it had a 55-watt bulb in there before. Any ideas or comments are appreciated.

Check the relay itself. It could've gone bad if it's blowing the moment you hit the fog button.

~Cheers~

Do you guys think that it might have something to do with the corrosion on the connector?

I don't have a solution, but I also had the similar problem. I did the H3c conversion. Prior to that I did the fog/parking light conversion. It worked fine for a year. After that it stopped. I found out that the fuse was blown. Replaced the fuse and blew it right away.
I started changing ground and positive around both fogs. Finally I undid the fog / parking light, took off the wire splice and all that, went back to factory and never blew another fog fuse.
I don't know what was the problem, but it's working now, but no fog and parking light.
I just have to live without that.

I got my car back and I tried unclipped the tap, turned my lights on, then my fogs, and there was no click. So now I have to find the relay. Anyone have any idea where it is on the passenger side?

this is why i never liked this h3c to h3 conversion...

when i did it, shit never really lasted... either a bulb or the fuse or relay goes bad shortly after.

So are you suggesting to just go back to H3c?

yes sir.

in my case, the bulb burnt out in about 2 weeks. i bought another set, then the fuse went bad and then eventually the bulb burnt out again. so, this mod started to get costly for me. switched back to the h3c bulb and no problem since. maybe others had better luck and will say the total opposite of me.

why would you want to convert to h3 anyways? they make aftermarket h3c bulbs

Well I was thinking about where the fog light relay may be and I remembered someone before mentioning relays on the passenger's side. Then I found 5 relays, next I proceeded to unscrew a screw that was holding them in place. Then I hit a wall...which one is it. Then the light bulb came on. I went into the service manual and found this...

Now I have the relay out and I am going to get another one tomorrow.

Shout out goes to J-SpecTL for helping me out with the bulb situation.

P.S. AZine FTMFW!

Good luck. In any case, don't buy cheapo H3cs. I tried the eBay ones and went through two pairs in a week. One even left the base in the connector and the bulb rolling around in the headlight!

~Cheers~

Here is an update:
I changed the relay. Put the stock bulbs back in. Changed the fuse. Now I am not getting anything. I don't hear any click at all now. Could it be the switch now?

All the fuses are good, the relay is new, the switch is new, the bulbs are stock and I am still getting now power to the relay because it is not even clicking and the green light isn't lighting up. Any ideas as to what it may be?

just the basic, I'm sure you already knew.

for the stock setup, the headlights needs to be on first.

I don't know what happened but tonight when I got in my car to go to the store my fog lights came on. I thought that I was seeing things at first, but they were working! Now I just need to order the bulbs that J-specTL suggested and I will have my look back. Thanks to everyone for the input.

I am too lazy to go to the garage and check, but I think u needed to turn on the engine also for the fog to work.

Glad to see it works now.

I thought about that as I was driving. The fog light mod still works too!
