Fixed my OIL LEAK!

I had a problem where oil was leaking from my car. It was not from bolt in the oil pan but I had to replace my valve cover gasket and the O-ring. I had a mechanic do it for me yesterday for 70 dollars. With tax it came out to be around 81 bucks. that included parts and labor. So if you ever have to replace those, that is roughly how much it would cost. Hope this would help future members with the same problem.

Probably is. And that's a lot cheaper than having ti fail on you.

Ask me how I know.

Did you lose all your oil and cook your motor?
Ive got a leak in mine but its only a few drops a day and Im living with it, maybe I should be careful.

Well the mechanic is a very good friend of mine and when i went in to get my rotors put on...i told him that i had an oil leak...he had it up on the lift and he turned on the car...and you can see literally a stream of oil coming from above the oil pan...he told me that it was the rear main seal from the differential...the guy said that he's seen that plenty of times in older model acuras...but i have bigger fish to fry seeing as how my car wont even start at this point due to the fact that my alternator is completely out. No one has ever heard about this bad rear main seal?

I have a small oil leak also - this might be the cause. Do you know where the oil was collecting on the underside? Also, could you see the leak yourself, or did the mechanic have to locate it? TIA.
