Question Fan problem maybe???

So we were heading to Sacramento from San Francisco today. We drove for 2 hours without stopping and the car did fine. That was until we got to our destination and turned off the car. I know that its normal for the fan to run for a little bit after you shut the car off. But 5 mins later, I came outside and the fan was still running, so I took it out for a little drive and the fan did the same thing and continued to run for over 5 mins after the car shut off. I ended up pulling the condenser fan fuse so it wouldn't drain the battery. I'm not sure if this is normal because the temperature was pretty warm in Sacramento, and 2 hours to continuous driving didn't help either, but is this a problem or is it normal? Thanks in advance!

BTW, the temperature was in the mid 80's when we got there.

My recollection from the shop manual is the engine-off cooling cycle is fixed at about 15 minutes. This feature insures that engine cylinder head does not overheat due to heat soak from the block when a hot engine is shut down. It helps to prevent head gasket damage.

good luck
