Unhappy Engine Overheated, any way to save?

My engine overheated and stopped on its' own. I think it is fried.

I will try to put more water and a quart of syn oil and see if it starts and runs. If not, my TL is gone.

Anyboday have any other suggestions? thanks

you need to call a mechanic or the dealer and ask them.....ask a tech. i wouldn't try to mess with it til you know what you're dealin with.

you should never put water onto a hot engine, something might crack

thanks guys, i waited then the next day to put water in. i did and let the cap be open and water came gushing out as i tried to start the car. So I know at least the head gasket is broken. I will drag it back tot he house and take apart the head and see, if the pistons are shot, then I will have to get a new motor, if not maybe work on the head and new valves.

What do u guys think? Where can I get a maunal to do all this? thanks again.

Do you have the 3.2L or the 2.5L?

If you have the 3.2L and the engine is shot, consider the Legend's Type II engine swap or the JDM C32.

Sounds like the infamous BHG (blown head gasket) problem on the C32 motor. You might as well get the Type II headswap.

I have a 2.5TL. Didn't get time to take off the head yet, but soon. it sucks not having a car to drive.
