I would say yes. I have done this on 2.2L Accords a number of times to gain additional clearance for working on timing belts.

good luck

well, i tried to take off my mounts today..
held the engine, removed the bracket from the mount to the engine.
but, couldn't get the mount out..
looks like i have to take out the axles..

has anyone done this?

i will try again later..

can anyone give me tips on how to separate lower ball joint safely for the rubber boot..

Looking at shop manual, I think you'll need to temporarily remove the mid mounts and transmission mounts, while supporting the engine and trans w/ jacks to gain enough clearance to remove the front mounts. In the shop manual for engine removal, these are the last item released.

You need a shop manual to perform major work such as you contemplate.

Why do you thing the front mounts are defective? Are they obviously ruptured or sheared?

good luck

my mount is definitely bad.. silicone has leaked out of it.. and the rattle is really annoying..

i looked at the manual..
i don't raise engine enough to clear the bolts on the mount, i just support it, so no need to take off the mid mounts..
the bracket that connects to the mount is attached to the engine by 3 bolts.. so i just take off the bracket..

in the manual, look at info on how to remove differential..

thanks.

well, so far i changed the one on the passenger side.. it came out on the inside side of the frame.... will change the other one tomorrow.. i think i will have to take out the axle to get that one out..
i'll try to take some pics..
but so far my vibration is still there.. we'll see if changing the other one fixes it..

if it doesn't .. i'll be sooooo mad!!!
