does anyone know where i can get a good used or NEW EGR vavle for my 97 3.2tl?

I have cleaned mine 2times and still get the check engine light for it..

 

Looks a bit pricey for what is it new, as usual.

Is it really the valve is bad or they EGR port inside the intake manifold needs to be cleaned?
Thats a big prob on the gen2 cars and all you do is remove the intake manifold and a few cans of carb cleaner will clear it all out. Part required- new gasket. Labor 2 hours being slow and careful
It is exhaust gas that gets diverted into the intake so it warms up faster, then valve closes and it stops. That soot plugs the passageway and will throw a CEL code
If its open when running warm- you would know it.

How many miles are on your TL? Acura put out an extened warranty on the 1st G TL's (I think for an additional 150,000 miles) that covers the replacment and/or cleaning of your EGR valve for free. Someone had posted a link back when the site was "Acura-TL.com" but I couldn't find the thread. I confronted my dealer about it (after my check engine light came on about 3 years ago and aprox 80,000 miles) and sure enough. They gave me a new EGR valve, did come cleaning, and cleared my check engine light....for free! You gotta ask, 'cuz they're not going to just offer it to ya. Let usknow how it goes.

 

I have a 97 acura tl 3.2 that i just bought it has a salvage title and about 147k can i take mine to acura and get that EGR valve fixed for free? my check engine light is on and i had my friend check it with his computer and the same thing came up.

 

I'm not sure what the mile limitations are, if any but do a search for EGR and you'll find the info for it

 

yes you can, cause the emission is good for 96-97 3.2tl . you should call ur local acura dealershit if its under it.
