EGR Valve cleaning

Has anyone cleaned out the ports to the EGR valve on a 1st Gen 3.2TL? Someone told me that the intake manifold needs to be removed.

Thanks.

I've done it without removing the manifold, but it obviously wasn't that good of a job. I just took off the EGR itself, and sprayed copious amounts of intake cleaner down the ports. While it helped a bit, it wasn't as good as when I pulled the pipe off the back of the motor while it was out of the car, hehe. Deadsetonliving busted up his finger doing it, needing to go to the hospital for stitches.

~Cheers~
