Cel code

CEL came on, scanned & pulled code 1705 telling me the tranny might be on its last ? uhhhhh, i dont think so. my tranny pulls pretty hard for almost 190k, the tranny has been serviced,& fluid looks pretty clean. Should i service tranny again its only been about a year ?

i wouldnt . i changed mines every 30 miles . u should drain and fill gear oil though

would any of you use any lucas oil stop slip in our trannys? some recomend it but others dont

no . lucas oil is temporary and will only seal the leak for about a month max, after that the leak will become bigger.

Code 1705 is an electrical fault in the AT gear position switch, switch connector, or switch wire. There is a long diagnostic in the Acura shop manual to look for faults in the switch circuit. Anyone ever spill a soft drink into the console. This is a likely cause of this fault.

Easy fix to locate the fault and replace the switch,...compared to a new transmission or new car.
