RPMs normally drop a little when you turn the wheel while stopped/in park. At what RPM do you idle? Do you have a CEL on?

CEL means Check Engine Light. Normally, it you're in park and you turn the wheel, the RPMs will drop slightly. What is your idle RPM?

I just re-read your original post, and I think what you need is a new battery and cable terminals.

You still haven't answered my question: WHAT IS YOUR IDLE RPM? The "stuff" he sprayed was probably a battery cleaner. Anyhow, take your battery and have it tested at your local Kragen/auto parts store. More likely than not, it'll come back as bad. Worst case scenario is that your alternator is on it's way out and can't keep up with the demand, or that you are running only on the alternator because your battery is dead. One answer to the blinking light/car jerking is a bad ground on the battery terminal, but if the battery itself is shot, then it won't matter how tight that cable is.

just because the battery is brand new does not mean that it is good... there is a chance that you could have gotten a defective battery.. the only real way to know is to get the battery tested....

if you don't remember the part or the spray that was used, why don't you go back to the mechanic and ask??? just seems like a simple fix to me if you already know someone that has the answer... i don't think we can just guess the stuff that he used where since there are possibly a million different combinations out there... good luck and let us know how it turns out...

I'm having trouble believing it's a battery unless he has to jump start it every time.
Does the car otherwise run fine?
It could be the idle air control valve getting stuck.
It's located close to where the throttle cable attaches to the throttle body.
It should idle at about 700 rpm when it's working right.

As you might have noticed, I have asked him 3 times and yet he still hasn't told me the idle RPM. I had a similar thing happen whith one of my Accords and it had a bad ground.

If you still have the problem, you need to help us help you.
Sorry if this it too obvious, but you might not know...
The other large gauge in your dash is the tachometer. It measures engine revolutions per minute (rpms), in thousands. 1 on the gauge is 1000 rpm.
It should read about 700 rpms in park or neutral, maybe a little less in drive or reverse.
Does the car run smooth? Or does it shake at idle?
Let us know the answers to these, and we can probably help you.

Go90go's answer fits best with 'he sprayed something'.
Check for a wire or cable that runs from the engine to the body or frame of the car. Make sure that the connections at each end are clean and tight.

Idle control, TPS, those things can throw off the car. This is how you test your idle:

1) Get in the car.
2) Start the car.
3) When the car is warmed up, look at the tachometer.
4) Post here what you see. Be sure to tell us if it's jumpy, or faltering.

~Cheers~

The tachometer tells you the engine speed. Gas pedal, which gear, and vehicle speed will all affect engine speed.

Somebody with a 1G post up a picture of the engine to chassis ground so Longsta will see what needs to be fixed.
