cap and rotor

ok i messed up. I'm doing a cap and rotor change and I think I am 180 degrees out of phase. My crankshaft and cam is at no#1 piston TDC. So should the rotor be pointing to the cylinder 1 on the cap??

as long as you didnt move anything else yes- TDC and number 1 alignment on the cap
If installing the entire distributor it probably has a gear drive? that will turn the rotor slightly as it engages
