Can u transfer ownership without a title? It make be easier to just save up ur money and just buy one that is running.

Head gaskets are kind of a PITA on these cars, butbif you DIY, it shouldn't cost much.

Pass. Body looks terrible, If he can't drive it anymore with his blown head gasket it's cuz he litteraly blowed the S**t out of it. Tranny is probably abused as well.

I got my 98 2.5 tl for 100$, Blown head gasket but very minor, came from overheating due to radiator failure. Radiator was changed to new, So was the exhaust for the most part. Car still runs B+. I'm planning on rolling it till engine fails me completely then just Swap out the whole engine for ~ 1000$.

I'd say inspect the car first, then deal him down. If there's no oil in the radiator, no white smoke coming out of the exhaust and no crazy overheating, its probably a minor leak in the gasket, between cylinders.

If its overheating, smoking and the prestone looks brownish, Offer him 100$ and swap the engine straight away. That's if the body and interior is in good shape. If not, just pass.

Pass. Like desired_speeds said, the body is destroyed. I saw that first and for a common car like the 2.5, it's not worth it.

~Cheers~
