my service light came on for the first time since i got the car. well, went to the parts store and could only find ONE brand of oil filter that looked very generic and couldn't find any coolant that is Honda specific like the manual says. i was just wondering if the coolant thing is just a gimic to sell Honda brand or is it for real. will Prestone mess up the car? and does anyone else have trouble finding even basic stuff for their car?!

 

go to a real parts store like zone or kragen and get what you need. Read the coolant label for spec of what is approved for, products have gotten universal to meet high demand cars

 

so the universal is ok to use? sorry i just want to be safe.

 

REPEAT read the actual label on the coolant bottle
If it says meets/replaces HONDA TOYOTA MAZDA and any color coolant- thats fine

If the word HONDA does not appear......
