Acura won't start!

Hello. My name is Travis. I own a 1996 Acura TL. I have a starting problem. I can get into my car and drive. I can go to work, but when I get into it to go home, it won't start. What is wrong. But, If I wait a couple of hours(2-6 hours later), it starts right up. I changed the relay located underneath the steering wheel. But, I'm still having the same problem. Help, If you can.

Every no-start diagnosis begins w/ determination of what's missing fuel or fire. Your problem could be either.

Carry an old spark plug and next time you have a no-start, pull one spark plug lead and connect the old spark plug. Ground spark plug body to the engine, step back, and have someone turn the engine over while you watch for spark across the gap. It should produce a pink-blue spark.

If you have no spark, a weak or intermittent open coil is a possibilty. Intermittent igniter is possible. A failing crankshaft position sensor can also cause no spark.

If you have a good spark, you're either getting too much fuel or not enough. Sometimes a leaking injector can flood an engine so badly it won't start. After waiting, the fuel clears and engine will start. A fuel pressure leak-down test will disclose a leaking injector. A fuel pressure test when you have no start will identify low or no fuel pressure.

good luck

When you attempt to start the engine do you hear a loud clicking noise?

If so its a bad starter.
