AC System cools only at high RPMs
I own a 2004 Acura TSX and as the title shows, my AC only cools at higher than idle RPMs.
So a little background is that what I believe is that the compressor went so I replaced it along with the evaporator and expansion valve.
I would vacuum out the system and replenish it with the R-134 until it was at an adequate pressure. It would cool the first day but then it seemed like I had a leak. I changed out the shcrader valves on both ports and vacuumed and filled the system. Again the system seemed to have a leak because it wouldn’t cool as it should at idle.
I drove the car and when I would switch on the AC it would slightly cool at higher RPM. I then parked the car and started pressing the gas until it hit 2000 RPMs and it cooled slightly again.
Ive read so many things that when you’re driving the the condenser gets more air and so on but I don’t think it’s the condenser.
Could it it be a leak or just plain out that the compressor isn’t good. I might try to buy some of that R-134 with dye in it to see if it has leaks but I’m not sure if there’s other steps I can take? Anyone else have had a similar problem?
