I have a 1997 3.2 TL, 150,000 miles, car has run great until now. Mechanically, I don't know a whole lot about it and I live a long ways from any Acura/Honda dealer, so I was hoping someone might have an idea for what is going wrong with my car. Here's the problem:

The "TCS" and "ABS" lights have been stuck on for a while (2 yrs), and the anti-lock brakes and traction control system have worked when they felt like it for the same period of time.

Today, I started up my car, put it in D4 and the TCS light started blinking, and now the car won't go over 10 mph or about 1500 RPM's. It basically seems like the Traction Control System is jammed on. Tried putting it in every other gear and the TCS light still blinks, and the car still feels gutless.

Anyone know whats wrong?

The sensor on the air intake for the traction control might be failing and your ABS pump might be malfunctioning check for leaks on the ABS pump, maybe try cleaning the contacts for the TCS sensor.

I wonder what would happen if you pulled all the ABS and TCS fuses?

Get a scanner and plug it, note the CEL's and post it. Or take it to any auto store, they will scan.

A scanner won't diagnose ABS or TCS problems. If the problem is elsewhere, maybe it will work.

You have to manually extract the ABS/TCS codes. Short service check connector and read the flashes. There will be a 2 sec long flash to indicate the ABS light is working, 4 sec pause, then long (F) and short flashes (f), w/ long pause between successive codes or repeats. Code 4-1 = FFFFf.

good luck
