I have a acura 98 tl 3.2 that I just purchased. The car won't start initially unless hooked up to the computer. When connected with the computer it starts fine and runs well. But will not start unless the computer is connected but it will turn over. Was told it was a relay switch so I purchased one and still the same problem. Someone please help!

 

by computer you mean?? the cars ecu? or some sort of scanner? im confuse.

yeah the car wont run without the computer plugged in at all. its what controls the fuel mixture and spark just to name a few. why would you want to start it without the computer hooked up anyway? i think i need more info as to what your trying to do in the first place.

 

Sorry for the confusion. The ecu that came in the car is the one that isn't working. Put another in and it ran like new. It's something with the ecu that came in the car. Tryin to see if I can figure out the prob and fix it or just get a new one. The most cost effective way.

 

Where did you get another ECU? Weird.

 

yeah man sounds like you just need a new one then. ebay away!!! just make sure you pay attention to the #'s
