What's it look like?
i wanna see 1G TL's.
:pics: so here are some very amateur shots i took of mine with my iphone. (the oil spots are not from my car) http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...eo1892/5-1.jpg here's a pic of the hid's, i don't have any corner lights in bc at night the hid's make the corners sorta "glow" and i think its fine this way. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r189/romeo1892/6.jpg Got Vents???? Range Rover Vents????http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r189/romeo1892/7.jpg here are my mirrors, my homeboy cut them up and installed the led strips. they are flush now and super sweet.http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r189/romeo1892/9.jpg they look sweet huh? http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r189/romeo1892/8.jpg and super bright... http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...meo1892/10.jpg and yeah i know, its missing the hood. Thats bc the hood is away getting a Skull Treatment. (i've got mixed feedback about the airbrush i'm getting on the hood, but i think its gonna look sweet.) whats yur thoughts about it? http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...o1892/12-1.jpg |
The only thing that I like are the mirrors.
Sorry. Let me find some old pics. |
its cool, did i mention that they are power folding mirrors, we wired them to open when i start the vehicle and close when i shut it off.
|
Yea thats dope.
There are JDM power folding mirrors that I have been looking at for a while but I just can't get myself to spend that much for them. Almost $300 for the mirrors, then you would have to add in wiring and also paint. :ugh: It is about a $600 mod in the end. If I had money like that I would do it but I rather get wheels, drop it, and get a 3.2 bumper. Wait did I just say that... :ninja: |
dont forget the led signals, add that to the equation.
i must not get it tho , y does erryone want a 3.2 front bumper? the only difference i see is that middle bar. i mean if i could pull something off a 3.2 it would b the hubs so i could find me a better selection of wheels. |
The 3.2 bumper has a flare at the bottom of the bumper that gives the front end more of a tone IMO.
|
hmm, i didn't know that.:tomato:
|
Yeah, it's like a factory lip compared to the other bumpers.
I really don't like the airbrush, BTW. Vents are cool, since they are actually cut into the fender, and the mirrors are nice. Here's an old pic: http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...90718-0716.jpg ~Cheers~ P.S. And an even older one: http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3.../IMAGE_003.jpg |
Ken's car in the background?

Then I have to find a relay. I looked at them before but I was unsure as to what relay I would be able to use for them. |
ok i see what u mean about the bottom of the bumper.
|
IMO horizontal grilles > vertical grilles.
The 3.2 bumper on a 2.5 is  It looks so good! Go90go's car is so nice! Good work Art! |
|
Too many pics to post just go here.
For ^ his pics. https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-tl-photograph-gallery-102/tmnhs81s-mod-pic-thread-714578/ |
vipstar, yesterday I was bored shitless and started checking 1st gens on cardomain, which as we all know is full of idiots, but then I came across your car - ironically you joined AZ at the same time. When I came across your car I was really surprised, I like everything except the vents. But it surprised me at how much effort you put in the car with the mirrors and repaint.
|
Thanks TLin401. Whats your name btw?? its easier to remember..

I believe I read that yours is Tony? |
 thanks.. Mike.
you asian by any chance....:jk: :tomato: |
Nope white just like my car.
|
I am just kidding. when I was at acurafest in fresno, every other asian guys name was Mike...so thats what came to my mind..
|
It is a common name and that is understandable. LOLz
OP get some tint and black out your headlights! I also just noticed how far back your seats are. Were you sleeping before you took these pics? |

your car use to be white i can tell by the fire wall and the engine bay.. thats why i didnt want to change colors on my TL...... what size are thoes rims...? they look like 19s... get some tint all the way around and lower it.. mirrors look pretty clean... but not feeling thoes vents at alllll... but over all ur car looks really clean... about airbrushing on ur hood i personaly wouldnt do it beacuse airbrushing usually goes in lowrider cars..
|
well, i'm opening a store up in east tn (hopefully soon) and i'ma be carrying Christian Audigier, Paco Chicano, some Ed Hardy, Smet, and True Religion. and I said why not throw an Audigier skull on the hood and use the car as free promotion. the wheels are 20's with 225/30/20 bfg kdw II's, and the car was that silverish gold color.
thanks Dainius for recognizing the hardwork i put into repainting and modding my ride. the work i did to my ride can be seen at http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3330637 |
Hey go90go in these pics , is your car dropped??
|
^ Yes
|
yup it looked like it, couldn't really tell from a sideview. Tmnhs81's car looks sweet too. just that it would look a Little better dropped. but nice looking cars
|
Those side mirrors are awesome!!!!!
Side vents, too! |
Thank you Mandy. i forgot about this thread bc it wasn't showin up. i'm prob gonna finish the car and sell it bc i want a Lexus GS or LS. i'm goin the VIP route and no one seems to like the TL, go figure. does anyone know were i can get a good used BFG KDW tire size 225/30/20. I have four i just need another for a spare.
|
i like that the vent is actually functional... so maybe you actually have some heat dissipation... mirrors look good.. .
the 1G is back to stock so no point in posting any pics :tomato: |
well i got bored the other day and decided to finally install my clear bumber lights. i've had them for like a year and never put them in (mainly due to the fact that the car was taken apart for re-painting).
here are some pix. (yes, i know, i don't have a hood) http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...o1892/14-1.jpg http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...meo1892/15.jpg and after that the next day i was bored so i decided to do this too. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...meo1892/16.jpg Don't judge me just bc my interior is duuurrrrty. i plan on doing the center console too when it warms up again. I also plan on buying some new carpet. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...meo1892/18.jpg yeah i know i'm missing a horn button too. (if someone has an extra one, let me know) http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...meo1892/17.jpg |
The dash looks nice.
|
you drive around without a hood? thats hardcore! and yep, the dash came out good
|
love the dash!
|
Cann I hazz black interiorzz!!

^ Oh true, didn't notice that. Wouldn't the paint crack since the dash is pretty soft?
|
well it hasn't yet, but i used paint that is for vinyl/fabric. plus i prepared the surface so i don't think it will crack. if it does i'll just scuff it and re-spray. the only reason i took it out was bc of three angles in the fron of the dash. one is the bigger one where the vin is located, the other two are the ones for the vent and where the vent and dash meet. those three areas were not being covered when i attempted to spray the dash while it was installed.
my car is coming together slowly, and some of u may remember the airbrush i was gonna get. well that person has yet to finish it (the reason i'm riding without a hood) so i think i'ma get it back from him and wetsand what he does have airbrushed on there, take the hood to a paintshop and have them clear it, and finish buffing the entire car. on a side note, bc i ride without a hood everybody with a pre-2000 honda, chevy 305<, and guys with import mini trucks always rev their motor when they go by me. i think this is funy shit. bc my motor is stock. i just look and laugh. |
these are pix of my 12,000 hid's on my TL. (note: i have adjusted the lights and they aim down and inward)
w/o foglights http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...2/DSC05402.jpg with foglights http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...2/DSC05401.jpg and what they look like from the front http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...2/DSC05403.jpg the pictures were taken thru the sunroof opening bc they looked whiter when i took them from the inside of the car. as u can see they aren't that purple/pinkish. I could get a further beam if i had left the reflectors in their stock position but i could tell i was blinding other drivers. i even got pulled over once: officer: your driving with your high beams on me: uh no. those are my low beams. (switched) these are the high beams. officer: well damn those are some bright lights my cousin: yeah its these crazy Jap cars ...and he let me go. since then i went from bi-xenons to lowbeam only (i never used the high beams) |
That is the same amount of light that I get from my lights and I don't even have HIDs. :dunno:
|
yeah but remember i have mine facing down. yurs are probably in stock position. but u know what, y not just post some pix here for comparison?
|
Will do when I can.
|
it'll be dark soon
|
I want to do it on a road with no light and dry just like yours.
It is raining here. |
My turn!
An old shot from way back when: http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...o/DSC01590.jpg ~Cheers~ |
yeah i think thats how much spread i would have if i hadn't adjusted the reflectors.
|
That setup actually had D2Rs set further back than all these plug and plays, and approximated the filament location of the original halogens. Didn't need much aiming for those.
~Cheers~ |
No offense my friend. Please at least use casper shields + D2S(I am pretty sure these are the right ones). That glare is painful to look at in pics, I can't even imagine how bad it is in person. No wonder you got pulled over..

none taken, like i said i have aimed the beam down and inward so that it doesn't blind drivers. i was simply letting 401 know that i can see just fine with my 12,000k hid's and that they do not shine purple/pinkish. |
^Your 12,000k HID's look like my 8000k HID's.
