whats is our stock horse power for 97 tl 2.5 and what is the max we can upgrade to ?

you can also post 96-98 2.5 , and 96-98 3.2 , but im especially asking for 2.5 tl 97

 

all first gen 2.5 TL's had 176 hp and all 3.2 TL's had 200 hp.

as far as upgrading your hp, dont go FI. simple bolt ons like intake, headers, and exhuast are the only sensible ways to add hp to our cars. the tranny just can't take the power from a FI setup.

 

Both engines are underrated by about 10 hp for the record

And both can be upgraded quite a bit. The 3.2 by about 50 hp or more if you have the cash and time.

 

I have alotta time... Cash...not so much.. but whatd you do you do to your 3.2 to get 50? Lol I want Nitrous!!! thats cheap and "SAFE"!! :-P

It means, that although the 2.5 was rated at 176, it's closer to 186, and although the 3.2 was rated at 200, it's closer to 210. Maybe Honda felt the need to either have a little grunt kept away, or they were just trying to be humble about one of their nicest cars, .

yup. bmw is notorious for underrating their hp numbers too.
