Well, first things first: what version do you have? One of the best NA mods period (as in bang for the buck), would be an intake. Do the regular tune-up/maintenance stuff with it, i.e., oil change, spark plugs, and it'll already be noticeable.

~Cheers~

P.S. Welcome!

you got a 2.5 or 3.2? i can imagine the 3.2 is pretty quick (i got the 2.5), but i hear some people complaining how the 2.5 is slow.. but i can say 1st hand that proper maintenance will make a huge impace on the abilities of your ride.. for me simple things made huge difference as Go90go said spark plugs, wires, oil change (rislone really helps!!), trans flush, differential flush, air filter, tire pressure, and some people don't agree with this but seafoam..i can say 1st hand that it worked great on my car..

seafoam- bg44- wynns- something is better than nothing
Engines- especially now with more ethanol in the gasoline, are
high revving mobile crud factories - each combustion cycle leaving behind unburned fuel- burn residue and byproduct- oil vapors
I need to post some pics of an engine I have the heads off- carbo city- would take a scraper tool to get just some of it off

for those worried about seafoam read their website- same product in use since 1940, they keep finding more uses for it

first time foamers shoud repeat the vac port and gas tank method after 2000 miles-then good for a year
Make SURE you are using the vac port right at the intake manifold- it will be the only larger than normal size vac hose with a clamp on it! remove that hose- feel ~20 psi suction- thats the place- will clean the system well from there

USE seafoam in its aerosol spray can version - sold as `Deep Creep` - its 100% seafoam - same amont same price- just way easier to put in the vac port or, thru carb if applicable to your vehicle

a clean engine is a happy engine- clean the oil method too, and then some new NGK platinum or iridium spark plugs- should run way better
If cap and rotor equipped- check those

seafoam, intake, fluids, as well as maybe a throttle body spacer if one was possibly made for the 1g TL.

depends how far you are looking to go/spend...

as the others have already pointed out above... do your maintenance plus seafoam...

then aftermarket you can go CAI, OBX headers, custom exhaust should help you for a few extra ponies too...

I've been looking online, is there a K&N cold intake for the 2.5? or is that weapon-X dragon the only brand? I'm looking for a short intake, I do not wish to lose versatility. I desire a reliable brand name, such as K&N.

Has anyone done a 5 lug conversion from the 2.5 to 3.2 wheels? This is one of my goals, along with eventually downgrading my engine (possibly to a 2.0 I4? or some other engine which could reserve more gas but be modern enough to give more umph)

how much would you have to spend on the engine swap to offset the diff in fuel prices you are paying??? there are plenty of ways of saving gas and just because you switch to a smaller engine, it may even burn the same or even more gas because it is less efficient than what was designed for the weight and size of the TL...

did honda even make a 2.0L for the USDM market?

intakes are simple man, you dont need to spend a lot of money to have good intake, and if you dont care about its looks too much you can even make one pretty easily.

I don't think the G20A came over here, but 2.5Inspired mentioned a 4 cylinder, not a 2L 5 cylinder.

They have them for the 3.2s, under 91-95 Legend. The thing is, the OBX is based on the Type II Legend's factory setup, so the Y-pipe is equal length with two flanges visible from under the car, whereas all the other 3.2s and 3.5s have an extra mid-pipe on the right (facing the front of the car) side.

Decent price, little gains, expensive to have someone install, pain to do it yourself.

~Cheers~

its actually fairly good gains, just need to rework the collector. and you gotta block off the air suction valve on type I's.

its a product thats about $7 that some auto part stores carry. YOu suck it into your intake side of the engine and turn off the car and let the formula work to clean out the carbon buildup inside. then you start the car and rev and drive around to burn all the carbon that the seafoam as removed from the engine.

How long do you let it sit in your car?
