Strut Tower Bar...still waiting....
I read one of the post in this forum saying that the 95 legend strut bar would fit a 3.2 tl. Can anyone confirm? Yes, it is a repost because no one has a "definite" answer and left me hanging.
I hope this is the last thread for all the 3.2 TL people who wanted a strut bar.

Yup I have one made for the legend and it fits with minor mods. Remove the rubber bumpers on the hood and the black sticker over the mounting holes. Very easy. I believe the factory strut brace from the legends will fit too and you can use both in conjunction because the one i have was made to work with the stock one. So you could potentially get one or both.

From the strut to where the firewall is to the other strut???

Spooky:
The 1996+ RL has just that. I wish it would fit!!!
It goes from the wheel well to the firewall to the opposite wheel well. Its an oval shaped bar, so its very stiff and IMO contributes significantly to the rigidity of the chassis.

sadly, i think us with the 2.5 are psuedo screwed in this area. nothing seems to fit, but that one bar from Japan. and that is rare and expensive. you could fab one, but it could be difficult..there would have to be certain angle bends and stuff to fit under the hood. having a 'V' shaped one like the RL would be tight. that type of design is super. however, to fab that you'd have to make mounting devices on the front, or firewall, whichever. basically....not looking super good as far as i can see. bah....wish Japan was closer (in this case)

Well if i could see the pics of the 2.5 engine bay the legend bar might fit because it just fits into these holes that are on the towers which yours prolly have because of the similar chasis. There is about a half inch or so gap between my engine and the bar so it might fit over your engine. As for the legend bar i guess i could look at my brothers car (97 RL) and we could compare to see if it might fit with some minor modifications (which i forgot to mention about the legend bar you will have to remove the stock engine covers, I like the legend ones better anyways). Or maybe we could just take it off one day and see if it fits one my car so everyone will be happy.

I cant remember if i paid that much or not. As for performance i didnt expect a whole lot I got it mor for the look but i figure its better than nothing and if you conbine it with the stock legend one it should be even better. Our cars have ALOT of body roll anyways so i didnt really notice/check for more rigidity i thin some ARBs would be the best thing for our cars but alas no one makes those. But like i said anything is better than nothing.

If anything, the strut bar will simply help make the steering sharper and the chassis will be tighter over rough pavement. To me its worth it.

You almost certainly have to remove the engine cover.

As far as I know, the only "strut bar" made for the Legend is the MLS bar. The KMS ones you see are strut tower brace that hardly does anything. If you want better performance, you'll have to reinforce the area that experiences the most change in motion, and that is right on top of the strut, which the MLS bars are made for. The KMS on the other hand, can't say much for. Those legend guys did not feel the cost was worth it at all.
I wouldn't bother with the stock legend's strut brace bar. That thing easily flexes. But hey, if it makes your mind feel like the car handles better, then go right on ahead. $40 for the stock legend bar ain't bad either. Find a junkyard and you can probably get it for $15 or so. Maybe even less!

Hey guys, I just found another type of strut bar made for our car. Does anyone heard of this brand or use it before?
http://performance.drivewire.com/sus...ttowerbar.html
So is the KMS strut tower bar ($140) better or the Legend OEM strut bar ($40). I need advice.

Neither one. KMS is mostly for looks. There is not enough stress where the KMS bar goes where it makes a difference. The stock legend bar flexes easily.
If anything, find someone to make a real strut bar (check out the legend MLS strut bar where it actually helps. It probably wont fit, but at least you get the idea of the design.

Would the TL 99 and up strut bar fit our car? Like this one ?
here's one on ebay in case anyone is interested. It's the legend factory strut bar.

According to the measurements I've done, any bar meant for the Legend will fit in a 3.2 TL.

There's been so many hyped about the MLS strut bar, but so far I have no idea what it looks like. I'm willing to throw down $200 if I know where I can get it or at least how it looks. Any help? The reason I didn't want the legend stock becuz GSteg said so? I want performance that I can feel.

if you "feel" any performance gain with the stock legend bar, its because your mind is tell you so.
Take a look at most bars and where they go. Most of the bars go over the strut mounts because when you turn your car hard, the strut will be pushing up and that's where the stress point will mostly occur at. The legend tie bar just sits out there. My 9 year old sister is able to bend the bar. If you want to make your engine bay look nicer, get the legend bar. If you want performance, find a bar that fits, or custom make one yourself. Perhaps you can measure the engine bay and find a bar from an accord or something.

The RL bar is VERY stiff and oval in shape. I need to do some serious measurements on this ASAP.

Hehe, my buddy has a "95 ack" what we call it, but he took his strut tower bar off to work on the motor and left it at my house... I'm gonna go home tonight and see if it fits... if it does yeah for me!

Hey Ken...Are you sure that the legends body has the same width as ours? If so wouldn't this fit our car?
http://acura-legend.com/vbulletin/s...t=MLS+strut+bar
I'm trying to email the guy who fabricated the "MLS" strut bar to see if he can do one for us. We'll see what he says. I'll update you guys with the news.
I agreed with Gsteg, if you want the maximum performance out of the strut tower bar, the MLS is the way to go....if it fits, and it's a start. Of course, there's the sway bar, and etc...

the best performance mod you can probably is upgrading the rear anti-sway bar, if there is even one to begin with. No doubt the MLS will make a difference in turning, but the rear sway bar is just a night and day difference. You turn with a lot less body roll which gives you more confidence in turns.
If you have enough interest buyers, call Addco and see if you can get them to make a prototype with your stock bar. I know for the legend, the Adcco bar is a lot heavier, stronger, and thicker. The stock bar can be bent easiler whereas you wont be able to bend the Addco bare if you tried (different material).
