I would not suggest buying that and/or putting it on your car. They are all crap (except for the real ones, not just crappy resisters). Do a search in Car Talk and you will see most of those chips that claim over 15hp for a few dollars are scams.

ah, no way dude. Those 10 dollar chips make your horsepower increase by like 40 percent. PLus you get better gas mileage. plus they're designed specifically for our cars wow! what a good deal. They're also Acura Certified.

such a great deal! I put 5 of em on my car, and i beat an STI the other day.

 

i got 15 of those chips in my car and i went from getting 11 mpg to 4534545 mpg. plus my car turned into a hover craft and i went to africa to wtf was poppin over there!!! def a must get!!!!

 

i just added like 20 more chips, they're amazing............especially with salsa.

haha all i had to do was paint the windshield wipers yellow and i got an extra 45 horse

 

then, i got this big APC decal, and some neon, and some flame looking floor mats... thats what really gets the ladies... bah lame!!!

i don't know about performance chips but is it worth installing one on your car, and do they actually increase your hr and mpg?

 

Don't do it.

 

I'd suggest first you make sure you have the latest stock or oem flash/software updates. Sometimes that makes the world of difference if out of date. The dealer or any reputable shop should do it for free if it's current and less then an hundy to update or patch.

I've used the direct plug-in "Jet Chips" which do work, the only flaw which they know about is because it doesn't have an air tight seal at the clips, any water penetration from rain, back wash, car washing and road will cause a short which will take out the car computer. Expensive mistake and fix, fortunately when I had to replace it previously they sent the wrong one and sent it out free. I was done with that brand. The solder in are great but costly!

All I experienced was some minor hp gain, maybe 1-2 mpg increase and higher rev/shift points so it seemed like I could go faster sooner. There's only a handful of brands that test and are good enough to use. Odds are if their on eBay, if not from a private seller- you're taking a chance.

Keep in mind, after a chip, you need cold air, hotter plugs help and exhaust is recommended as well at a minimum because it's providing higher revs, earlier shift points, providing fuel faster so you need more air which means you're running faster and hotter.

 

Any recommendations of chip manufacturers to go with? There are so many advertised out there. Any links to reputable makers?
