OBDII to ODBI Jumper
thought this topic would be best for performance than general threads. (move back to general if need be)
Has anyone ever used an OBDI ecu with a OBDII to OBDI jumper harness to tune, bypass EGR, etc? I'm starting my long train of thought for when I get my 96 2.5 back so I can start the repairs and mods. I'm thinking trying to use the OBDI Vigor ECU to run a 5spd. Plus the same treatment I'm doing to my del sol with a wire tuck, brake tuck, ditch ABS, and shaving the bay. Plan to keep stock interior but focus on performance and suspension.

Someone had tried that before. He wanted to convert his car from OBDII to OBDI to do this swap but also wanted to convert OBDI to OBDII. He had someone doing all of the work for him and was told that it was successful on his 1G but on the vigor it was not.
So it is possible.
So it is possible.

yeh there is more to it being a OBDII. I kinda know some of the difference's in the OBD0 vs OBDI but have ways to go. I have a concept and trying to learn what I need to do to make it happen.
If successful in this part of the plan and get the 5spd to work, phase 2 will blow you away.

You can run the Vigor ECU, you'll need the harnesses from the Vigor though and OBD-I setup.
