Getting Painted :)

As we speak, my TL is waiting to get painted once it gets out (end of next week) I plan to redo all the interior lights and the lights above my license plate, but can someone help me find the woodgrain center console that goes around the shift plate? IT woould go well with my steering wheel cover and this shift knob I plan on getting, I have no luck when I search any help is appreciated and yes I will post pics

and on a side note, one of my center caps is missing on my wheel lol, I've seen some on ebay, if I buy it, can I just push it in? or is there some other type of procedure I need to do?

Doors, Map and Dome light is a DE3175 bulb.

License Plat lights is a 194 bulb.

I found my wood grain center console at a salvage yard for $35. Look around maybe you will have the same luck.

The center caps only require to be pushed in. You don't have to take the wheel off or anything.

I can mess up something simple lol, but this would be the right center cap right? Description says its 6 5/8", I just want to double check in case it's the wrong size from another model, but I'm thinkin all center caps are the same size?

We don't know what kind of wheel you have, but what you have listed is the bigger size center cap. My 2.5TL uses the smaller caps listed here:

the estimate is a little over $500, I'm getting some minor bodywork done and I don't know what kind of paint they're going to use

That is ridiculously cheap. Ask them to paint the sideskirts as well. It makes a huge difference.

500 to do some bodywork and repaint the car?! Maybe I should drive to the states in order to get some work done as it would probably be cheaper including gas and whatnot.

I would say that you need the smaller cap. If you still skeptical, measure the opening on your wheel and it should measure ~2.75" and not ~6.63".

I have had my fogs working independently since I did it in August of 08.

I just couldn't wire it the way that you did in your DIY.

That pic that I took was also on August 31st of '08.

That's cool. That was actually the cheaper one of the two that I've found on ebay. The other was $23 buy it now, IMO ridiculously over priced for a used center cap.

I went to the paint shop bright and early and the guy was telling me that they are there for a reason and would crack on impact, he said he'd still do em if I wanted him to, but I told him not to, I'll jus detail them with my black magic tire gel, which gives my side skirts a solid black look with a shine, it lasts for a while, along with the mudflaps

also got a look at my car, the bodywork is superb and he says that with the route they're on, it might be done by wednesday which is my b-day woot woot!!! and i'm now waiting on my center cap lol

That is terrible.

That is a complete lie.

If done right they will NOT have anything happen to them. I have had rocks, salt, snow, water, rain, sand, dirt, etc hit mine and they still look brand new.

I use to shine my side skirts with tire shine it looked nice until I saw how sexy the side skirts looked.

They look better in person, and the only reason they'd crack on impact would be if he wasn't planning on putting flex agent in, and the only reason they'd even hit anything would be if you were going to go curb jumping.

So I got my car back today and it rained like 15 minutes later lol, but now I have an appointment to get my drivers window retinted, they managed to blow half my tint off with their blower while finishing the job, but no worries they're paying the little $45 for it and yes I'm aware the tint will look slightly different

still waiting on the center cap to come in the mail, wipe her off after this rain, then some pics

How did they blow your tint off?

Tint goes on the inside of the window...

that's exactly what I was thinking, I'm jus gonna assume they sprayed the whole window as a precaution? You should've seen it, it looked like someone just tried to rip if off with their fingers, so I jus ended up taking the whole thing off, will be retinted next tuesday

If you do not want to sand, use some Nu-Finish Scratch Doctor. It works on the haze on my dad's car.

Debadge it! It will make the back look sooooo much cleaner.

because the car came with the pin stripe, so after they painted it, they applied a silver pin stripe to keep the factory look, they mention it during the estimate, could've told them not to do it, but I want my car to keep it's stock look

I had it before and I removed mine (it was only a sticker).

Makes the car look much much cleaner.
