Front fogs, corner turn.

So I got bored when I got home last night and decided to make my lower corners into turn signals. I used the factory connectors and actually removed the little spades from inside the plastic and swapped them. In the process, I decided to make my turn signals into driving/fog lamps. I'll have pictures up soon, but I'm enjoying my HID bumper lights, haha. Kinda makes it look more Toyo/Lex/Niss/Infi-style where they had fogs in the lower corners of the fascia. Why we never got that is beyond me. It helps make us look low+wide which is what VIP is all about, !

~Cheers~

Hell, I was wondering the exact same thing a few times! Can't wait to see how it looks.

Kinda off-topic - here in Canada all the cars have DRL, do you know if it's possible to stop them from working, or maybe have them work with custom fog lights like the ones that you've just done?

Alright, I went to grab my camera and not only was the lense messed up, the batteries were dead. So were the spares sitting next to them, haha. While those were charging, I went and grabbed one of my phones and thank god for "Chance Capture". It records a 36 second block that overwrites the beginning if you go past the allotted time. It's converting now, and should be available shortly! You guys get to see my pulsating lights, too, but since converting the lower corners into turn signals, I only have the two upper ones going.

Ken, I doubt yours can be cleaner than using the original connectors... .

Danius, just yank out the DRL module, but remember that Canada requires them on all cars so try not to get in trouble if you decide to remove it.

Link will be up soon!

~Cheers~

Damn man, that looks insane!

I know that DRL is required in Canada, but if I do the (yellow) fog light mod, then I can do without DRL. Is it hard to find the module? If you could point me in the right direction, I might do the rest with diagrams.

What melted housings? .

If you must know, in testing various colour temp bulbs, I let one touch the very edge of the reflector by accident and it did melt a little bit. More damage to the bulb, really, even worse than that time I set a hot (still glowing) HID bulb down only to have it roll onto a plastic bag. That was an easy fix: I just turned the lamp back on and carefully scraped off all the melted and smelly remnants of a Kragen bag.

@Danius, it should be under your dash on the passenger side. I'm seeing different things, though, so it might be on the driver's side. I know the relays for the low beams are on the passenger side, though. In any case, be careful to take off both battery cables, negative first, and wait 5 minutes before touching the airbag connectors.

~Cheers~

im kind of a newb so let me get this straight. So, you switched the turn lights into fog lights or vice-versa? Right now my 2.5 has turn lights and I was wondering if its safe to make them into fog lights. I dunno I may be completely confused/retarded so please let me know!

All i want to know is how you are keeping your signal lights on. What are the steps you must take? Step by Step please.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Are you talking about the upper corners? Those aren't signal lights, but are my pulsating position lamps. The lower ones are my turn signals, and what I did was disassemble the factory connectors and swap the signal pins.

P.S. Next up will be something just introduced in Japan, if I can justify the $80 for two little lights, haha.

You can change them to a dual filament bulb/socket and tap the low side to your position lamp, and the high side to your turn signal.

Here's an example:

{URL=www.google.com/video1.flv}{IMG}www.google.com/th_video1.jpg{/IMG}{/URL}

It should work fine. Here's my preferred way. It looks nicer than the one above which I messed up on and couldn't edit.

{URL=Full .flv Video Link Here, Preferably PhotoBucket}Video Title Here{/URL}

Be sure to use [] instead of {}.

~Cheers~
