hello fellow first gen people, i just bought a 96 2.5 TL today, and was wonderin whats a good exhaust to put on a TL without havin a giant 3" muffler pokin out? im feeling a much more subtle, but yet good exhaust tune. any ideas on a good brand?

 

don't do it you will regret, stock muffler gives better acceleration

 

Fujitsubo! A more common one would be MagnaFlow, and a good cheap alternative to that would be Vibrant.

Vip is partially right in the acceleration part, but that's at the very bottom end. You'll gain it back in the mid-top end depending on piping size and muffler design. For the 2.5, I'd say just stick with the common 2.25" piping from the cat back, into a chambered muffler, not straight-through, and you'll be fine.

I put a rice muffler on the 3.2
I liked how it sounded OUTSIDE of the car. But it had such a drone.
I didn't notice any powerchange.
I have an OE style on now

 

i put a magnaflow on the 3.2... it sounds really nice...

i noticed a slight loss in tq but it is made up on the top end as go90 mentioned... i can instantly tell when my car is coming down the street...

 

Kam, you did do a cat-back, right? I'm guessing 9632tl did muffler only.

Also, +1 for the MagnaFlow, as I'm using their products from the Y back.
