Smile 97 TL 2.5 - privacy screen?

hey everyone, so in some of the cars we've owned over the years some had those nice privacy screens, bmw lexus mercedes all them have the screens. i want one in my tl. so what i did was went to home depot, and grabbed a spring loaded blind, peel the blind off at the end ( its only glued), go to a fabric store, pickout whatever you want, and put it on the end like how it came with some glue, have them sew the edges and at the top put in a plastic rod of your choice for strength, i am still working on the best location to mount it. the roller and all brackets will be concealed under the panel behind my back seats. then i will cut a slit down the panel with a dremel to feed the screen through. then i was gonna look around or just buy a replacement hook from a dealership and i should be all set. anyone try this before?

I just settle for tint, haha. I'd love to have curtains instead of screens, but alas, we have no where to mount the rails because of our frameless windows...

Aren't you afraid that with the screens up, someone might forget to lower them while opening the rear doors, effectively ripping it apart? Unless you plan to make a bracket to hold the screen up and have it mounted to the window itself, I can see that happening with passengers unfamiliar with your car. People like that are why my rear passenger side door switch is a bit touchy; people slam that door because they don't know how light it is. Just like how the passenger front door handle is the first to have the spring broken.

~Cheers~

yes, i would have 2 clips at the top of the glass( they would simple hook onto the top of glass and roll back down so that wouldnt happen. the first poast was actually for my rear window. im making progress i got the brackets, spring pole, and my choice of very fine black mesh(all they had) do you thing the black will look bad with my tan interior? my window tint is black so i think that would help.. and incase some of you say why didnt you just get darker windows, i like lighter tints much more, they look better and im not trying to hide from the world, but i think privacy screens would look awesome. im gonna keep working on it ill keep you posted. only spent $20 on all the materials the rest in in your head
