Windshield wipers

Ok, this is for 2002 Corolla. This is the first time that we are going to change the wipers...i know...should have done it a long long time ago. Now when I was trying to change it, it doesn't want to come off. There's this release button on the wipers but when I press it, it doesn't do jack...tried yanking it off but it won't budge. What should I do to get it off...someone told me to use pliers and pry the damn thing off. The wipers been on the car since Nov 2001.

wait are you trying to take off the arm that holds the blade? or just the blade itself? If its the arm that holds the blade there is a little clip and it'll slide off the main arm. If you're trying to take the blades off then there is two hooks on the end bend those in and the whole thing will slide off.

I remember first doing the wipers on my Volvo, I had no idea how to do them at all, haha, I didn't realize that you had to pull them back towards the base of the wiper arm so that you could get it off, I worked at it for like 10 minutes, gave up and asked my dad, he showed me and I was just like oh...
