windshield replaced then rained

so i replaced my windshield for $125 including tax, labor, and parts. tape was placed all around the windshield and i was told not to wash the car or take off the tape for one day. after 13 hours thunder storms started and it rained all night. in the morning i removed the tape and everything seemed ok.
did it have long enough to dry?

thanks. so far so good. it rained again today and no leak.
i read that the windshield actually holds the frame together in an accident and the downfall to replacing your windshield is a weaker frame.......just an fyi
