Will '97 Accord struts fit on a '96 2.5 TL?
I didn't want to repost this but no one is answering me and i'm dieing for some struts. My tires are getting eaten up from wore out struts.
I need this info soon, someone please help!!!
I'm thinking about getting KYB GR-2's to replace OEM struts, and I'm keeping my OEM springs.
Like I said this is very important so if anyone can prove that '97 accord struts will fit on my ride it would be greatly appreciated.
If they do not fit, I really need some advice on what to do.

No, because struts are made for each specific car. The only ones that might work would be the Vigor. I don't understand why people don't just buy the proper kind for THEIR car!

Here are the parts numbers that I got for either springs or struts I forget what exactly i asked for but here are some numbers.
Honda Accord 97 L-S1606-$V4-A02
R-S1605-$V4-A02
CL 1st Gen L- 51606-$Y8-A02
R-51605-$Y8-A02
TL 1st Gen L-S1606-5WS-A02
R-S1605-5WS-A02
She had shitty hand writing so Im not sure if the $ signs should be S's instead, but you get the picture. The middle section of numbers is different.

Just because the part numbers are similar doesnt mean it'll work.
Example: C32A6 and C32B engines. (1st gen TL and NSX engine)
Similar? Yes on paper. In practice, incredibly different and do not share ANY parts nor are they positioned the same.
Struts especially do not swap easily. Why? Because the Accord and TL are different lengths, weight, weight balance and mounting points.
The chassis are totally different. Heck the suspension on the 2.5 and 3.2 are not interchangable.

i have a 2.5TL and I bought the B+G S3 coilovers and when i recieved the box there was a label on the side of the box and it said: 97-00CL!! i called B+G and they told me not to worry because the CLs(1st gen)-TLs (1st gen 2.5)- Accords (94-97) share the same strut and they assured me that the S3 Coilovers I bought will fit.
..... i guess we'll see when i install the S3s.
here's B+G's phone number if anybody wants to call them:

2.5 TL help with shocks/struts
I've searched through all the old threads and it just seems like no one has a definate answer to the replacement shock question for the 2.5 TL. I'm not lowering/dropping my car, i just need basic shocks to replace factory.
The closest I got was:
I have a 2.5, and I know for a fact that tokico shocks from a 97 accord work, because i have them in my car.
Other people have also installed, KYB and Koni from an accord, but they too have a 2.5. Remind you that the 3.2's suspension is totally different from the 2.5's. I have yet to see anyone with a 3.2 with a uncomplicated suspension story, and I'm sorry that it happened to you guys. You should always double check with the facts and revise them, before you purchase something of such magnitude.
and this:
96 TL 2.5, KYB GR2 shocks, Ground Control Coilovers, my ride actually is pretty good. a little more "responsive" on bumps and around corners and such.
Can anyone please give me a reference # or positively reassure me that 97 accord shocks will fit on my stock TL? Tokico or KYB shocks have been what I was looking at. I'm not going high end here so i'm not interested in Koni's. I have 200K miles on my car and I'm not looking for performance just something cheaper than factory shocks. PLEASE HELP SOMEONE!!!!
And I don't need springs/coilovers or any of that , just shocks

Ps
I forgot to include that I have the tried the Koni Reds for the 91-95 Legend with no success, as well as sprint struts and springs (they fit the 2.5TL not the 3.2). A technician at Koni promised me the Legend ones would work, and of course they don't...I'm hoping someone on this board can shed some light...

Sprint springs
I had the sprint struts and springs for the 2.5TL installed in my 3.2, but it drops like 3 inches (the seller told me it was for the 3.2, after it didnt work i contacted Sprint and they informed me it was for the 2.5 only). You can find the part number here:
http://www.sprintspring.com/xsshocks.html
As far as the Konis, the front struts on the 3.2TL sit in a fork - the konis for the legend haev too large a diameter to fit into the fork. The rear konis for the legend have an 'eye' which attaches to the axle, but the TL attached with a fork in the rear as well...
Does anyone in this forum have konis in their first gen 3.2TL which rides like stock? or lower? or just rides period?

well flava thanks to that link, I'm able to compare part #'s between a '96 2.5 TL and a '97 Honda Accord. The front part #'s match exactly. I'm not sure, but assuming that's correct, I would think all makes/brands of struts for '97 accord will fit 2.5 TL's . Searching through all the threads I could find on it, that's the general concensus but no one can confirm it. I've asked and asked and asked, and I guess no one's done it, or dont' know. I know some have went with Koni's but geeze i just want OEM replacements. I'm not try'n to lay down some $$$. I've just turned 203K miles, i'm not try'n to race it out. Just want the Ak to take me about another 20K-30K miles.

So no one's put '97 struts on thier 2.5 TL, using factory wheels and factory springs? Can anyone on this entire forum confirm this? I need help, and if this forum can't help me, no one will be able to.
