Exclamation Wierd thing underneath steering wheel???

Hey guys, just wanted to see if anyone else has one of these on their TL. Underneath my steering wheel, near the hood release latch is a little black plug looking thing that say ATS on it. It appears to be aftermarket and is held on with some really really strong double sided tape... It has wire coming out that go...somewhere.... but anyway, it lights up green all the time (even with car off)...I have a decal on my window with the same letters(ATS) and underneath it says Anti-Theft System...Does this mean I have an aftermarket alarm??? I have set the alarm off once or twice but I assumed it was factory on all the TLs...And why would this random ass plug be on my car? It looks like you could plug something into it... Any help?

Might be easier to help... Ken is 99.99% right most of the time... so most likely its an aftermarket alarm...

Maybe its what my parents 89 Astro Van had... one of those keys that you need to plug in in order for the ignition to work...

that could be a motion sensor or a vibration sensor to the aftermarket alarm. many times they are held on by double-back tape or velcro.
