...getting an alignment? as opposed, to say, a tire balance. i still have damn shaking wheel. and like i have mentioned....alignment is all i have not had done. when i'm driving at highway speeds, it shakes, and also does, well what i would 'steer drifting'? basically it's like the car is going along and the wheel is shaky, then for a split second it'll be smooth and the wheel will be loose and have a bit of travel, then goes back to the stiff and shaky. any ideas on this one?? should i just pay the $40 or whatever and pour yet more duckets into it and see if that fixes it?
when i got a balance, the worst tire was like 2 ounces off. unsure what to do next?
ps - i know in the end it could be a slightly bent rim or worn tire....but those are not doable at this time.

Same thing with mine. Alignment was way off and destroyed (cupped) my front tires. Got an aligment and new set of tires and its been golden. Check your alignment every 30k at least!! You wont regret it...

basically when you let go of the steering wheel and if it drives itself into the other lane(assuming your stock height) then thats a good sign you need an alignment. An alignment should range from 40-60 bucks for a 4 wheel alignment for stock height. If your dropped with a camber kit it ranges from 90+. When I got the TL the alignment was totally off one, side had positive camber and the other had negative camber so the tires were kinda like this / /.
Is one tire worn really oddly? That could be tire pressure or alignment.
Does the car pull to one side? Like LDH said, does it go into another lane if you let go of the wheel? Try this in a lot of places, as some roads will pull you towards the outside a bit by themselves because of water drainage. Also, make sure the front tire pressures match each other and the rear tire pressures match each other.

i've checked tire pressures a few times....they are very similar. not always exact same....but within 1 or 2 psi. i keep em about 32 all around. the car doesn't seem to drift, just that damn shaking. but that wheel 'drift' that i was talking about is something that weirds me out. i mean.....after having new rotors, new pads (the correct ones!), 4 tire balance and new bearings on one side....what else could be making the wheel shake. it was almost better before i did anything at all to the car, and that was when the rotors were warped. so it shook when i braked.....now it doesn't shake when i brake, but it shakes when i don't. i'm wiggin here....
There can be two other things wrong... you might need new shocks/stuts... or the spring in your steering wheel is broken... YES there is a rebound spring in the steering wheel... When i messed up my suspension after hitting the curb... they fixed everything... and then had to take it to the dealership to fix some spring that had broken... they told me that when they test drove it the wheel was shaky etc... (I know it had been that way before i crashed)...
I'll have to look more into it... maybe someone here knows what i'm talking about...
