Okay - you guys tell me. Why do our cars attract so much attention? I mean like getting challenged to race at a stop light (revving engines, peeling out, etc), or cutting us off on the freeway?

Is there something about these cars that makes younger drivers want to mess with us? I don't even get challenged like this in my BMW M3!

Is this considered a drug-dealer car? Is it a pimp car? What is the mystique? I obviously don't get it.

I dunno, I don't get that much attention in mine. Debadged, clear corners, my only exterior mods. Typical dark green color. What about yours? Rims?

I wish more people would race around with me

 

Our TL's have this fast look to them, classy, solid etc.

In addition, the engine layout means our cars look like they are RWD.

I always get Integras trying to race me.

 

You know they aren't RWD the first time you get in and stomp the gas though I hate rolling up to 15-20ish and then stomping the gas, just to have the whole front end lift and feel all sketchy until it settles back down.

 

Mine is a dark-green '97 3.2TL - completely stock. Don't even have tinted windows. I keep it clean and shiny, but that's about it.

I have seen many pimped-out TLs though. Maybe my car gets associated with them.

 

well according to your name, you have 200 hp'ish in your car. maybe they know this and just feel the need to test your car out? also, i think people assume ALL acura cars are wanna-be racers. no one realizes that they can be classy, and still be fast. not everyone wants to race all the time either.....i live in college town and that happens lots.

 

thats weird. I get a whole lot more idiots wanting to race when i drive my accord coupe than the TL - unfortunately the accord only has 140hp

I LOVE my car, but im not sure how other people perceive it. A few of my friends had no clue that Acura was in the same league as Lexus and MB, until they sat in it. Now, they love it, and appreciate some of the "unique" stuff it has like framless windows, and big, authorative styuling etc. BTW, I only have rims on my car and their not "bling" as in chrome spinners or other bs. They oem 16 inch honda wheels.

Now this might sound kind of silly (and off topic) but any comparisons/contrasts between a G1 TL vs. M3 !

 

some guy on here said he raced his tl at the trach against a 3series tlxracer mayb? not sure if it was a M3 but take into consideration that they not even in the same class...
