Good Morning:

One of my friends EGR crapped out and now he has to cough up a sizable ammount of money inorder to fix it, i'm not trying to go thru that, i really dont know what it is or what function it serves as within the hood but its pretty damn important i know that much because his car is grounded(not moving)...lol, so please any help or info would be greatly app'd also i did read up on the EGR post but no one actually explained what it is maybe because they all know...

 

E.missions G.as R.ecirculation.... Its a valve that opens and closes with vacuum to allow emission gasses to be recirculate to the combustion chamber to be reburned. not sure where it is located on our cars. but yea if that is not working the car doesnt run worth a crap.

Its pretty easy to test urself....all you really have to do is take the vacuum line off and put a hand vacuum pump on it to see if the diaphram is torn or cracked. If it hold pressure then its usually still good. It maybe just clogged.
