Question WHat do you think??

I found a '92 Legend LS Coupe, black on black. Automatic with 95k miles. All tune-ups and service was done on time and at the dealer. In fact, it was the dealer's owner's car (only owner) and garage kept. THe interior and exterior look amazing, close to mint. It also has clear bumper lights, limo tinted windows, rear spoiler, sunroof wind deflector, and alloy wheels.

Price is 9500. I'm hoping I can get that down to like 8500.

What do you think? Good deal, or no?

IF and say IF it is in excellent condition, I'd offer 8500. Legend coupes that have under 100,000 miles and in near mint shape are rare, thus the reason for the high prices.

ENJOY!

That is a very nice Legend. I've been looking for a '94 Legend Coupe Series II with a 6sp. I can't find one for the life of me. But when I do, you can bet I'm picking it up!

I would say it's worth around $7K at most. It's 12 years old, I mean damn. But ya see if you can get it down, it's a nice car.

Yeah, my dad needs a car since he totalled his truck. I really don't feel too comfortable modding the TL any further since it's pretty nice and relatively young.

I know some people who know tons of people who can help me out with the legend. I also figure the insurance should be less and parts easier to come by/cheaper.

The condition is mint though. It was garaged and only driven by the dealerships owner. It was always serviced at the dealer and it had the 90k mile tune-up, so I figure that should save me money. The payments at 3.9% with zero down are gonna be $250 a month if I can get the price down to $8500. The Kelly Blue Book is $9200, so it's not way overpriced.

damn that red coupe really got you thinking huh?

here is my opinion. i think that 9k is high. it is a 92 but it has nice wheels, etc. and you wouldnt have to mod it too much. i would prefer the 6 speed but hey i know you go to school and it might not be too convient for ya. all you need is a body kit like that red one and your golden.

oh yeah btw, my car is a '97 and i bought it 2 years ago for $13,700 i put 3k down and my payment are $250/ month and thats with 13 percent interest. i can refinance it at the end of the month which i am going to do. so i think you can get lower payments. i say offer him $8k and take it from there.

good luck

It's not over priced but i think you can get a way better deal. 2 weeks ago i found a 93 6spd manual coupe for 7500 with like 70k miles. 2 days after i found it when i got to the dealrship it was sold :smackhead i'd say get it down to 8k...and is the timing belt and all that already been done if you owned a 3.2 you'd know it cost a pretty penny to maintain that C32 oh and beware of headgaskets thats the most common problems on legends. Good luck

I dont think its too bad an idea at all. Try to work him down as low as you can. And like you said, if its mint go for it!

Yeah, the timing belt and everything was done at the 90k mark at the dealership. I'm gonna try and get the price down. If not, I'll pass it up and keep my eyes open for something else. Thanks for all the input guys! I think that i'm getting more and more excited about it now!

http://www.craigslist.org/sby/car/27909354.html This is even cheaper. Probably lower it to 6500 since he sounds so desperate.

UPDATE: I checked KBB and the price was like 9200 or something. I just contacted the guy at the dealership...he said the most he can knock off the price is $500...which is gay, but he said since the car is in mint condition, that's why it is priced so high...im thinking that if I go there in person, i might be able to get him down to like 9000. I really need a car to be mint or close to it b/c i'm gonna make it a show car...

if the price for the car is already 9500 and the most he can knock off is 500 ? shouldnt it already be at 9000? so what would going to the dealership do ? I'd still try to aim for 8500 or lower.

My bad, the price for the car is 9950, not 9500...I dunno why I put 9500...I would go to the dealership to talk to the owner directly, since it was his car. If he knows that I came from NJ to see the car, he might lower the price...we'll see...
