weird missfire
Sometimes when I start my car cold, before it idles all the way down, it will shake a little bit. It seems to do it even if I use the gas pedal a little bit.
The plugs are newer, I just cleaned the iac, oil is clean, coolant level looks good. Is there a way to clean the FITV? Fast Idle Thermo Valve
Oh, and I know my egr ports are clean.

The FITV has a plunger right in the middle after taking off the brass plate that gets carbon filled like the IACV. Also fast idle for ours car with thermostat closed should be around 1,500 + 200 rpms. I messed with white ring around the plunger and now the car idles too low during fast idle suggest you don't mess with that part. There is a way to test it further if you're really interested but don't take all this guy's advice- http://www.hondaaccordforum.com/foru...ad.php?t=14691www.hondaaccordforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14691

If idle speed is low (< 1000 rpm) when cold, shaking is normal. Idle should be 1500-1700 when cold and gradually reduce. A low idle speed w/ cold engine means the idle air control valve (IACV) and throttle plate are not passing enough air to allow idle speed to increase. Clean IACV and throttle plate (both sides) w/ throttle body cleaner.

I'm doing an idle setting right now I was reading the 1993-1995 3.2. Acura Legend Repair Manual and found it to be similar to our TL 's settings. The manual contradicts itself though it tells you how to set the idle and then later on in the book it says the idle screw is factory set and no need to set it yourself. Here's the link to the site
http://www.atfinley.com/service/ obviously choose the 2nd Gen. and then fuel and emissions side.

Finished setting the idle and let me tell you what a difference!
1. Start the engine, warm up engine til at operating temperature (fan comes on).
2. Disconnect IACV.
3. Start engine press accelerator pedal until rpm's are at 1,000 then depress accelerator letting engine idle.
4. Idling with no load idle should around 480 +50 (in N or P). Adjust idle screw if necessary.
5. Turn ignition switch off
6. Reconnect connector for IACV. Reset ECU.
7. Restart and idle the engine with no load conditions for one minute (or until fan comes on again), then check the idle speed. Idle should be at 640 + 50 (in N or P).
This is for the 3.2 1st Gen. Acura TL

Well, I bought a new egr gasket, took the egr off and cleaned it as best I could. T/b cleaner, small brush. It didn't look dirty at all, but it helped.
