I was just wondering the effectiveness of htis intake, Anyone had this installed on
their 2.5TL and were satisfied?

I am thinking about buying one, as Im getting bored with the power I have right now. So basically I just wanted to collect feedback on this intake. Anyone know a better site where I can buy it cheaper?

Secondly, I am getting a performance chip shipped over. Any opinions on that?

I had a weapon R on my 2.5TL. I liked it at first, but when I was parting out stuff on my TL before trading it in, I took my weapon R off, and put the stock back on. Let me tell you, the car ran MUCH better with the stock intake. The weapon R made my TL run like shit. Soundwise anyway. night n day diff.

well at first for a while it seemed fine, but after a year or so, I had this weird sound when my car would be driving, didn't know quite what it was, I then put the intake back to stock, and the sound was gone....

 

I converted my Secret Weapon intake into a cold air and that made a huge difference. I'm very pleased with it. That's the same price I paid. I couldn't find it cheaper.

 

Did you ever clean the filter? Every few thousand miles you are supposed to clean the cone filter. If you never cleaed it, im not suprised that you heard a strange noise after having that cone on there for a year.

And about the performance difference, honestly i can barely tell the difference. The gas milage is slightly better. Im satisfied with it, just dont expect any leaps and bounds on the performance improvement.

 

Just get the filter, pass on the chip

I had the Weapon R intake for 3 weeks, Only difference I found was the sound of it. No performance gain or any better fuel consumption.
Took that off, put stock back in.
I sold the Weapon R intake on eBay for half the price, but I was just happy to get rid of it.

 

It's fairly simple. You have to take your bumper cover off and remove the resonator and all that stock intake stuff. Then instead of putting the filter where the instructions say you just get a tube that will stick into the hole where the resonator was and put the filter in the bumper cover using the bracket that comes with the kit and and one of the screw holes that held the resonator in place. You don't really have to worry about water or anything either as long as you don't submerge that corner of the car. It's very well protected and sounds pretty sweet.

 

I installed the secret weapon intake and i like it!! i notice a little bit more power but it might be because I have both the secret weapon intake with a remus muffler. i can really feel the pull when i'm above 5000 rpms and VIS kicks in... i really want to get it dyno'd because i honestly feel a difference. i know the numbers will prove the HP gain instead of me talking about it...

anybody in Northern VA with a hook up with dyno??

 

I took my air cleaner box out and installed just the filter...with the stock rubber piping.Runs great! More oomph to it and better mileage.Hondas are built with peak performance at stock level(in Japan anyway).If we install a n aftermarket intake system,they'll actually lose power.So we have to re-map the computer everytime something is changed(for serious performance minded people).I dont bother to do that though.All I'm gonna do is lower the car and nice audio...no exhaust change or anything.
