water entering trunk
97 3.2TL parked on driveway with a little slope. Small amout of water accumulated at the the bottom of spare tire "possibly after heavy rain. Immediate suspect is the rubber seal. Does this thing go back and casue water leaking to the trunk? I did a visual check, end to end, and did not find any rot or deterioration. I might have to run water with hose next time foe testing. Does that mean the rubber seal has to be replaced to slove the problem. Any advice and expreince on replacing the trucnk rubber seal is apprciated.

The water is getting in through your tail light seals when you drive in the rain or wet surfaces.... Replace both of them and you are good to go. Trust me, I went crazy trying to figure out where the water was coming from on mine....

This is from NABA
the reason for this is there are seals between the lights and the metal body of our cars, in most cases that seal is old and no longer functions as it should. wat i did was i went down to my dealer and bought the taillight gasket , part number...33503-sw5-a01. when i did mine i got 2 of those because eventualy u will have to replace the other one too so mite as well do it now. they cost like...20 buks for both? so wont put a dent in ur pocket either. when u get that just remove the tail lights and swap out the gaskets. i was getting ALOT of water in my trunk i mean the whole wheel hole was full of water. wat i did with that was i opened one of the rubber holes and kept it that way and then i took off the rubber lining around where the trunk closes and cleaned all the gunk n dirt out of there and put that back on.... after bout 4 months? no water as of yet so try that and if u need to no how to remove the tail lights i can give u that info and some pics if u want so just pm me ltr if u need anythin. ltr
My addition: use hair dryer or hot air blower to dry water and fog in tailight!

It's unlikely to be the rubber seal unless you had a rain of biblical proportions or the gutter is blocked. There is a gutter to route water around the trunk opening, and unless the gutter is blocked, water will run around and drain below the trunk opening.
A more likely reason for water in the trunk is a defective seal around one or both taillights. I've had this problem w/ Accords, but so far not w/ my TL. However, the taillight uses the same soft foam seal around the assembly. It get's stiff w/ age and water can penetrate. A new seal is the fix.
good luck
