Want recommendations about 146k service

I want to get five more years out of my 96 with 146k showing. Performance and ride are fine. Plan on replacing timing belt and front brake rotors, since original rotors are on it and they're getting thin. Has had regular (5k) oil changes and uses little oil now. What else does your experience indicate may be needed to keep it running solid for 75k-90k more?

Oil change at 3K with 5w30, change the diff and tranny fluids. Don't flush the tranny, just a drain and fill. My car went to 236,480 before I broke a wrist pin, and I'm at 238,XXX with the original tranny. Do the timing belt, water pump, use OEM Honda coolant, change all four rotors/pads.

~Cheers~

If your car is a 3.2, then you need to go to your dealer and find out if the extended emission warranty procedure has been done on your car. If it hasn't, then tell them you just had an "EGR flow" code cleared out, and need to have the extended warranty done. It expires at 150,000 miles. They replace a BUNCH of stuff free of charge, like the spark plugs and egr valve.

If it's a 2.5, it doesn't apply.

You will probably need struts sometime in the next 50K if you haven't already replaced these...

Good stuff. Thanks! I should have said its a 3.2L. I fully intend to get 250k or more out of it.

Thanks for reminding me about the emissions system. I'll check my records on what has been done already.

Yep, had the rear struts done. I'll check out the front. Appreciate the reminder!
